About The Bull

Where Chicago steakhouse quality meets Northwoods heart.

The Bull Market isn’t just another meat counter — it’s the product of decades in hospitality, generations of culinary legacy, and a deep respect for doing things the right way.

Owner Kurt comes from a long line of restaurateurs. His family owned the iconic Allgauer’s in Chicago, where quality wasn’t a selling point — it was the standard. That same mindset fuels everything we do here at The Bull Market. After over a decade in the meat industry himself, Kurt knew Eagle River was ready for something different: steakhouse-level cuts, butcher-level knowledge, and an experience rooted in real connection.

As the third generation in the business, he brought his deep knowledge and respect for the craft up north — but The Bull wouldn’t be what it is without the team behind the counter. Kurt will be the first to tell you: this place runs on incredible staff and shared passion.

Originally envisioned as Wall Street Meats (our shop sits right on Wall Street, after all), the name evolved into The Bull Market — a nod to the famous bull statue in NYC and a better fit for what we do here: high-quality meat, smart sourcing, and a touch of tongue-in-cheek charm.

We’re proud to carry the cuts you don’t find just anywhere — hanger steaks, bavette, picanha, and other true butcher’s cuts. As the saying goes:
“Good meat ain’t cheap, and cheap meat ain’t good.”

Whether you're grabbing steaks for the cabin, ordering a whole pig for your next roast, or stocking your restaurant menu with something special — we’ve got you covered. We also offer local wholesale, custom cuts, and pre-orders for events.

Thanks for supporting small business, good food, and the art of doing things right.
